Terms and conditions

Friendo’s terms and conditions

Effective from 20 February 2026. The Danish version prevails.

01

Introduction

Friendo ApSCVR: 44 91 20 74Egeskovvej 6C3490 Kvistgård, DenmarkEmail: [email protected]

By using the Friendo platform on friendo.dk and in the Friendo app, you accept the following terms and conditions as a renter. Friendo is operated by Friendo ApS (“Friendo”). If you have questions about these terms, contact us at [email protected].

Friendo offers a sharing-economy service where anyone can borrow a trailer for free, with the option to buy extra services such as a longer rental period, extended insurance and reservations.

The person who created the user profile and makes the booking carries full responsibility for picking up, using and returning the borrowed or rented product.

Friendo may change these terms at any time; the new terms apply to all rentals and bookings made after that date. The current terms are always available in the app and on the website.

Friendo’s services can only be used through our app, which requires a smartphone.

02

Booking, free period and rental period

There is always a free borrowing period. Its length is shown in the app and on the website.

If you want to keep the product beyond the free period, you can extend your rental by further rental periods of varying length. Extensions are made in the app, provided the product isn’t booked by another customer. An extension is only valid once it appears on your booking in the app.

If you need a product at a specific time, you can reserve it in advance for a booking fee.

A booking can be cancelled up to 60 minutes before the pickup time. The booking fee is not refunded, as it covers the administration of blocking the product.

All prices and fees are shown in the app and on the website.

03

Pickup and return

The product can be picked up up to 30 minutes before the booked time, provided the previous renter has returned it.

The product must be picked up within 55 minutes of the booked time. If you don’t show up, the booking is cancelled and you are charged a no-show fee to cover the reasonable cost of the empty booking. The no-show fee is shown on Friendo’s website and is limited to that amount.

The product only counts as returned once you have:

  • Left the product at the pickup location
  • Locked the trailer and registered the return in the app
04

Condition of the product

The product must be returned clean and in the same condition as at pickup. Damage or misuse not covered by purchased insurance is charged.

At pickup, before driving, the renter must check the product and register any visible faults in the app. Faults not registered at pickup are considered to have occurred during the rental, unless the renter shows otherwise.

Late returns are charged a fee plus payment for the extra rental, insurance periods and any other add-ons.

If the product isn’t returned, Friendo may report it to the police and demand its return through the bailiff’s court. Costs may be claimed.

05

Obligations and responsibility

The renter is responsible for picking up, using, transporting and returning the product. Only registered users on the agreement may use it. The Danish Road Traffic Act must be followed.

It is your responsibility to check that the product is legal and safe to use, including – but not limited to – that the safety cable is intact, that wheels and brakes work, and that indicators and lights work as they should. If you find faults, you can report them in the Friendo app.

The product may not be used for political, religious, offensive or illegal purposes. Friendo may exclude users who breach these terms.

06

Specific to trailer rental

If Friendo receives a reminder for a fine (including from a parking company) while the trailer was in your care, Friendo will pass your personal data (name, address, phone number and email) to the issuer. If you think a charge is wrong, object to the issuer, not to Friendo. This processing follows the GDPR.

  • The trailer may only be towed by people with a valid driving licence for the product.
  • The towing car must have mandatory third-party liability insurance.
  • The trailer may be driven at up to 80 km/h (Tempo 80).
  • The product may not be sublet.
  • Carrying people or animals is forbidden.
  • You are liable for fines, charges and similar while the trailer is in your care.
07

Damage

Damage to the product must be reported as soon as possible in the app or to customer service.

If the product can’t be returned because of damage, contact Friendo with its exact location and our technicians will take over. You are responsible for leaving the product somewhere safe where it doesn’t obstruct others.

If a technician finds no damage that prevented the return, the callout and administration costs are charged.

If an accident happens, tell Friendo’s customer service straight away and report it in the Friendo app, including filling in our damage form.

08

Insurance cover

All products have comprehensive insurance. You are responsible for the product and any damage, including but not limited to theft, during your rental. Each claim has an excess of up to DKK 10,000.

You can buy the following cover:

Standard – DKK 49 per rental period
Covers all damage to the rented trailer, excluding loose parts, which are charged according to Friendo’s price list on the website. Excess per claim: DKK 500.
Premium – DKK 79 per rental period
Covers all damage to the rented trailer, including loose parts. Excess per claim: DKK 0. No damage discussions – we handle the rest.
Loose parts
Lock, lock box, lock pin, jockey wheel, chains and cable.
  • The insurance doesn’t cover damage to or theft of personal belongings or other goods
  • The insurance doesn’t cover damage when hitching or unhitching
  • The insurance doesn’t cover damage in car parks with a clearance under 2.30 m
09

Theft

If the product is stolen, the renter must report it to the police straight away and send the case number to Friendo.

The renter is liable for the excess unless they can document that the trailer was locked with the fitted lock, that the safety cable was attached correctly to the vehicle or a fixed object, and that no keys were left in or near the product. Failing this counts as careless handling.

Whatever insurance level you choose, your total liability can’t exceed the excess unless the damage is caused by gross negligence or intent.

10

Payment

Payments are handled by certified third-party providers that protect your details in transit. Friendo never has access to your card details.

Amounts are reserved and only charged once the product is returned correctly. Extra costs are charged for delays, missing parts and/or damage.

11

Limitation of liability

We do everything we can to make sure your booked trailer is ready. If it still isn’t there at pickup, or can’t be used, we’ll fix it straight away – either by finding you an alternative or by refunding your payment.

Friendo isn’t liable for operating losses, lost profits or other indirect losses for you or third parties, including lost bookings or a product being unavailable despite a confirmed booking.

Friendo isn’t liable for damage the rented trailer may cause to your car, its electrical system, you or third parties, unless it can be shown that the damage results from Friendo breaching its obligations.

Friendo isn’t responsible for damage to or theft of items stored or carried in the product, or for compatibility issues on your device.

12

Right of withdrawal

You have a 14-day right of withdrawal from the booking. When you book, you expressly request that the rental begins and accept that the right of withdrawal ends when you pick up the product.

The right of withdrawal doesn’t cover the booking fee, which isn’t refunded if you withdraw.

To withdraw before you’ve picked up the product, cancel the booking in the app or send us a clear statement at [email protected] or +45 76 30 00 00.

13

Complaints

Complaints can be made to Friendo’s customer service, who will look for a solution. If we can’t agree, you can complain to the Danish Consumer Complaints Board, Nævnenes Hus, Toldboden 2, 8800 Viborg, Denmark.

14

Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by Danish law. Disputes that can’t be settled amicably or by the Consumer Complaints Board are decided by the Danish courts.

As a consumer you always keep the rights that mandatory consumer law gives you, including the right to bring a case in the courts where you live.

15

Friendo processes personal data under GDPR Article 6(1)(b) and (f). When you borrow our products, we may collect:

  • Name and address
